About our speakers

Eric Parker

Eric Parker is the Co-Founder of Nando's and Partner at Franchising Plus. Eric has over 40 years of experience in franchising, including holding the position of Marketing Director at KFC and co-founding Nando’s Chickenland.  He is a past Chairman of the Franchise Association of Southern Africa (FASA) and served on its Board of Directors for many years. Eric enjoys an outstanding reputation as a speaker on franchising and small business issues at functions and conferences. He is also sought after as a strategic thinker and facilitates most of the operational planning sessions hosted by Franchising Plus. Moreover, Eric has written or co-written several books on entrepreneurship, including two best sellers in their field namely ‘Run Your Own Business and Make Lots of Money’ and ‘Eric Parker’s Road Map to Business Success’.


Ingra du Buisson-NarsaiIngra du Buisson-Narsai is the co-founder and Director of NeuroCapital Coaching and Consulting, which consults to some of South Africa’s leading and most admired companies.  Past experience includes heading up HR at Famous Brands.  Ingra is the supervising psychologist of the Franchising Plus E test, a psychometric assessment for potential franchisees.  She has 20 years of executive-level experience in corporate South Africa and is a Registered Organisational Psychologist in private practice. Her unique contribution is as a catalyst for change, using integrative organisational neuroscience. Ingra is also an established leadership and executive coach and is affiliated with the Wits Business School (WBS) in South Africa, where she supervises and examines the work of post-graduate students in Business and Executive Coaching.  Ingra is an Executive Committee Member of the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa (SIOPSA) and the Chair for the Interest group of Applied Organisational Neuroscience (AONS).Ingra’s academic qualifications include an MCom (Organisational Psychology), PGCNL and Masters of Science (MSc) in Neuroscience of Leadership, and a Ph.D. in Organisational Neuroscience (in process).  She has also published on Applied Organisational Neuroscience. Ingra actively pursues the increasing visibility of neuroscientific methods and diagnostics in the study of organisational behaviour


Lesley-Caren Johnson

Lesley-Caren Johnson is the Owner of Wordsparks consultancy and Co-founder of the Herding Cats Franchise Management Platform. She helps companies develop and streamline their management procedures, processes and business administration by compiling business policies, step-by-step procedures and other resources. These are then documented into user-friendly printed or online operations and procedures manuals which can be made available to business management and staff to assist in the consistent implementation of the policies and procedures. Lesley-Caren has more than 20 years’ experience as a consultant in the franchising sector and is therefore understands the importance of business systems and processes. She has also – over the years - trained small- to medium-size business owners in management, finance, customer service and basic business skills and mentors SME business owners as part of an Enterprise and Supplier Development Programme for one of South Africa’s leading banks. Her experience spans a wide variety of industries, including the hospitality, retail, beauty, signage, motor, farming, educational, consulting, financial services and food industries. She has worked for, and with, some of South Africa’s best-known companies including MTN (South Africa, Uganda and Rwanda), West Pack Lifestyle, Woolworths, TOTAL South Africa, Col’Cacchio Pizzeria, Vodacom, City Lodge Group of Hotels, Holiday Inn Hotel Corporation, Hollard, Deloitte & Touche Franchise Consulting, Jack’s Paint & Hardware, Worktrainer, Chip ‘n Dip, Liberty and the DCM Group.
